Philippines and Japan plan joint maritime drills in West Philippine Sea

MANILA, Philippines, June 9 (Eagle News) — The Philippines and Japan plan to conduct joint maritime drills in the West Philippine Sea, with Japan sending its Maritime Self-Defense Force ships and surveillance aircraft. According to the Japanese Defense Ministry, this is the first formal joint military exercise conducted by both countries.
