“Perla” weakens into severe tropical storm, exits PAR

(Eagle News)–“Perla” has weakened into a severe tropical storm, and has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said it was still monitoring another weather disturbance outside PAR.

Severe Tropical Storm “Bualoi” was estimated 2,690 kilometers east of Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

It is moving northwest at 20 kph.

Occasional gusts may still be experienced over Extreme Northern Luzon due to the prevailing northeasterly surface wind flow, PAGASA said.

Sea travel is risky, especially for small sea vessels, over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions associated with the northeasterly surface wind flow.
