Narco-list not a “hit list,” PDEA chief assures
(Eagle News)—The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Monday, April 30, said charges would be filed against barangay officials allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities “in a week or two.”
PDEA Chief Aaron Aquino made the statement as he assured the public that the list was not a “hit list.”
“We want to be legitimate in our operations, we want our operations to be transparent,” he said.
Aquino said the list would be made public soon, this even if President Rodrigo Duterte said it was not yet time to release the same.
But according to Aquino, the President’s pronouncement referred to the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers to Kuwait, with which the country has what appear to be strained relations since reports of OFW abuse and the death of OFW Joanna Demafelis reached the President.
