PCOS machines used in 2010 and 2013 elections, defective – COMELEC

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Commission on Election Chairman Andres Bautista said that 800 units of Precinct Count Optical Scan or PCOS machines used in the 2010 and 2013 elections were found defective out of 8000 machines tested.

“I heard that about 8 to 10 percent have defects. Of the more than 80,000 machines, 10 percent have already been diagnosed. That is about 8,000 units,” he said.

However, Bautista said that they already asked the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to validate the matter.
