ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 16 (PNA) — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has lifted the suspension of voyages from this city to the nearby provinces as well as to the Visayas as the sea condition has improved although typhoon Glenda still remain in the Philippines Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Zamboanga Coast Guard Station (ZCGS) commander Lieutenant Senior Grade Jomark Angue said the suspension of voyages was lift effected 7 a.m. Wednesday.
“As the weather is continuously improving and the sea condition is already moderate and navigable, we are now lifting the suspension of voyage from the port of Zamboanga going to Visayas area, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi effective 7 a.m. today,” Angue said.
Angue has ordered the suspension Tuesday of boat trips due to rough seas although this city in particular and Western Mindanao in general is not directly hit by typhoon Glenda.
He said the suspension of boat trips is a proactive measure to prevent accident at sea.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its hourly weather bulletin that the eye of typhoon Glenda was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Subic, Zambales as 12 noon Wednesday.
