PBBM: Gov’t to exhaust all legal remedies to bring Teves back to PHL

(Eagle News)–President Bongbong Marcos on Friday, March 22, said the government will take “all necessary actions” to bring Arnie Teves, the alleged mastermind in the killing of  Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, back to the country so he can face the charges against him.

The President issued the statement a day after Teves was arrested by authorities in Timor-Leste, weeks after Degamo’s first death anniversary.

In February, Teves was placed on the red notice of the International Criminal Police Organization.

“I assure the Filipino people that we will spare no effort in ensuring that justice will prevail in this case,” the President said.

He also commended the “collaborative efforts” of the country’s law enforcement agencies involved and international partners for Teves’ arrest.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those involved in this operation for their unwavering dedication to upholding peace and order,” he added.

The Department of Justice has said Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Dili is coordinating with a team from the NCB in Manila and the Philippine Embassy in Dili for Teves’ extradition to the Philippines.
