Panelo says “anti-Duterte Bong Banal” is narrator in “Bikoy” videos

(Eagle News)—Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo has tagged a certain Bong Banal as the “narrator” in the Ang Totoong Narcolist video series.

Panelo made the revelation after what he said was an analysis of the voices in the videos.

According to Panelo, “Bikoy’s” voice had an Ilocano accent but Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed he was the yellow-hooded man in the videos against President Duterte’s family and others, had a Bicolano one.

Panelo said Banal was an IT expert who provided source materials to Rappler, which has been included in matrices that detail an alleged ouster plot against Duterte.

Apart from Rappler, the matrices, presented by Panelo, showed Magdalo and the Liberal Party, among  others, were part of the supposed ouster plan.

Panelo said Banal also spread anti-Duterte materials online.

“It appears now in that video that it was Bong Banal who was the narrator,” Panelo said.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines has said Advincula’s statements have not been vetted.

The Senate has cancelled a planned probe into Advincula’s allegations after Senate President Tito Sotto said Advincula had also alleged then-President Noynoy Aquino, then-Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and then-Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa were linked to the drug trade.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has said Advincula could face an inciting to sedition charge if he does not file charges against those he has accused “backed by evidence.”
