Palace welcomes dismissal of raps vs NAPC chair Maza

(Eagle News) — The Palace on Tuesday, Aug. 14, welcomed the dismissal of the murder charges against National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) Lead Convenor Liza Maza.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the dismissal of the charges for the killing of Anakbayan supporters “proves that the legal system is working. ”

“We’re happy that Secretary Liza Maza can come back to work..,” he said.

The Palayan, Nueva Ecija Regional Trial Court dismissed the charges also against former Bayan Muna Reps. Satur Ocampo and Teddy Casiño, and former Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano for lack of probable cause.

It also voided the arrest warrants issued against them.

Earlier, Branch 40 Judge Evelyn Atienza-Turla, who issued the warrants against the group, inhibited from the case.
