Palace welcomes completed PHL-Indonesia pact that delineates two countries’ EEZ boundaries

(Eagle News)–The Palace on Sunday, June 23, welcomed a completed pact between the Philippines and Indonesia that delineates the exclusive economic zone boundaries of both countries.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the pact, which shows the “strong and tight bond between the tow countries, which incidentally are celebrating their 70th anniversary of formal diplomatic and bilateral relations,” was the highlight during President Rodrigo Duterte’s bilateral talks with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Saturday night.

The deal is “in line with the independent foreign policy course that President Durterte charted for our country — where we are friends to all and enemies to none,” Panelo said.

He added it could be used as a template for future pacts with other countries.
