Palace suspends work in gov’t offices on Dec. 26

(Eagle News) — There will be no work in Malacanang and in other government offices on Dec. 26.

This was according to Memorandum Circular 55 signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

The suspension, according to the memo, covers local government units, state-run firms, government financial institutions, state universities and colleges, among others.

According to the memo, agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services and other services that include disaster preparedness and response are required to come to work on that day, though.

Earlier, the Palace already suspended government work on Jan. 2, 2019, reportedly to allow Filipinos to celebrate the holidays with their families.
