Palace stands by Presidential Proclamation 572

(Eagle News) — The Palace on Thursday, Sept. 6, stood by the presidential proclamation that declared the amnesty granted to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV as void ab initio.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “kinakailangan naman kapag nabigyan ng amnestiya … may tunay na pag-aamin at merong kumbaga dahil nagsisisi ka nagkakaroon ng parang panibagong buhay…”

“..Pero sa tingin ko ay parehong wala,” he said.

He also questioned Trillanes’ filing of a petition seeking for the nullification of Presidential Proclamation No. 572 before the Supreme Court, noting that the High Court has no jurisdiction over the same.

In his petition, Trillanes also sought for an injunction against defense officials, the military, police

He said this was because what were being questioned were “factual issues.”

“Pero pwede akong magkamali, baka tama rin ang ginawa niya,” Roque said.
