(Eagle News) — Vice President Leni Robredo does not need to attend Cabinet meetings if the war on drugs is not on the agenda.
If the anti-illegal drugs campaign was a topic for discussion, though, Robredo will be invited, President Rodrigo Duterte said, according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
“When we have a Cabinet meeting, we are invited by the Cabinet Secretary, and we are asked if we are going or not. In other words, it is optional for us to attend because if it’s not your topic there, you’ll have to stay there for the rest of the meeting until the wee hours of the morning,” Panelo said.
Earlier, Robredo, who recently accepted her designation as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Against Illegal Drugs, said she would only attend Cabinet meetings if she was invited to them.
