Palace on Duterte’s “very good” rating: It is proof of the public’s “unshakeable trust” in him, his admin

(Eagle News)–The Palace on Tuesday, March 12, lauded the rise in satisfaction ratings of President Rodrigo Duterte, saying this was proof of the public’s “unshakeable trust” in him and the present administration.

“The Palace considers this increase in satisfaction rating as a vote of public confidence and a demonstration of the people’s unshakeable trust to the present administration, which the polling firm classified as ‘very good,’” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

According to Panelo, the latest figures of the Social Weather Stations survey were “loud and clear repudiations of the critics and detractors of PRRD who have described him as misogynistic, anti-poor and anti-human rights, and who have taken turns in questioning the Build-Build-Build Infrastructure Program and lambasting the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Marawi.”

Panelo said that “while the Administration never impelled the vocal minority from expressing their dissent, it is time they finally realize that a sizeable but silent majority has paid no attention to their endless tirades against PRRD and the Administration, as well as its policies, particularly with respect to the aforesaid matters.”

“The Filipinos can rest assured that we would not be lulled into complacency while we continue to roll out the programs and services he started in bringing a comfortable life for all under a peaceful and corrupt-free environment,” Panelo said.

According to the latest SWS survey, 76 percent of the 1440 respondents were satisfied with the administration’s performance, 15 percent were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, and 9 percent were dissatisfied.

The administration’s +66 net satisfaction rating in December 2018 was an increase from the +50 it posted in September 2018.

Duterte garnered an overall “very good” satisfaction rating, rating “excellent” in two   performance subjects — promoting women’s rights, at +71; and building and maintenance of public works, at +70.

Duterte also got a  “very good” in helping the poor (+68); protecting human rights (+62) and reconstructing Marawi City (+60).
