(Eagle News)–The Palace sees no need to issue a bulletin on President Rodrigo Duterte’s back pain.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in the first place, the President has been transparent to the public about his health.
Senator Bong Go, Duterte’s former longterm aide, said there was nothing to worry about as the chief executive’s back pain was merely due to muscle spasms.
He said Duterte was only told by his doctors to rest, and was given medication.
According to Panelo, a medical bulletin “comes into play only when the President is in serious illness.”
“That is the constitutional requirement,” Panelo said.
The President had to cut short his trip to Japan because of “unbearable pain” in his spinal column near the pelvic bone.
This came days after he figured in a motorcycle accident in the Presidential Security Group compound.
Go had said the President complained of a “sore hip” following the incident.
