Palace: Kidnapping incident in Makati an “isolated incident”

(Eagle News) — The Palace on Tuesday, Dec. 10, gave the assurance the kidnapping incident in a busy street in Makati was an “isolated incident.”

“I have not heard of any kidnapping cases reported whether by the media or by word of mouth – except for that video that went viral,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.

According to Panelo, it was “definitely” safe to roam the streets, even as he urged the public to also remain vigilant.

A video of the kidnapping of the Chinese woman on Paseo de Roxas St. corner Nieva St. has since gone viral.

In the video, the woman was seen screaming and shouting “Tulong!” as the van which she had initially boarded willingly sped away.
