3.6-magnitude quake jolts Agusan del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Agusan del Sur on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers northeast of Talacogon at 7:55 a.m. Depth of focus was 71 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

20,000 pigs culled to control ASF

(Eagle News)—Some 20,000 pigs have already been culled in the country because of African Swine Fever, based from reports from the Department of Agriculture. “The majority of the pigs were from Bulacan and the areas were already quarantined including nearby areas of Pampanga,” Agriculture Secretary William Dar said. African Swine Fever reaches Pangasinan; at least 71 pigs culled

  (Eagle News) — African Swine Fever (ASF) has reached Pangasinan after blood samples of hogs suspected to be suffering from ASF tested positive for the virus. Fifteen of the 30 blood samples taken from pigs in Barangau Balolin in Mapandan town tested positive for ASF.
