Cloudy skies expected in Batanes, other areas as “Onyok” moves north

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected in Batanes as “Onyok” moves in a northern direction.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said these conditions are also expected over  Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao and Ilocos Norte with the eye of “Onyok” located  320 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

It is moving north at 20 kph.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, will be experienced over the provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Kalinga, Abra, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Aurora.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and Aurora Province.

The coastal waters, PAGASA said, will be moderate to very rough.
