The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 22 kilometers southeast of Tulunan at 8:07 a.m. Depth of focus was 12 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 225 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 3:57 a.m. Depth of focus was 70 kilometers. (Eagle News)–Another Philippine Military Academy cadet has died. The PMA said Cadet 4th Class Mario Telen, Jr. was found dead in the 15-foot deep end of the PMA pool. Telen had been unaccounted for after he attended his swimming class from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, the PMA said. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival at the PMA Station Hospital.
