MIAA releases list of operational commercial flights for Wednesday, May 6

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Laguna, Quezon

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Laguna and Quezon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers  are expected over Laguna. Lightning and strong winds are also forecast. These conditions, PAGASA said,  are being experienced in Mauban, Quezon. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the weather bureau said.  

4.7-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Oriental waters

(Eagle News) — A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental waters on Wednesday, May 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 10:53 a.m., had its epicenter 136 kilometers southeast of Manay. It had a depth of 51 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Taal update: Ten volcanic quakes recorded in past 24 hours; volcano still on alert level 1

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Wednesday, May 6, reported ten volcanic earthquakes at Taal in a 24-hour period.
