PAGASA monitors severe tropical storm outside PAR; Tail-end of cold front to bring rains to several areas

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

PAGASA said Severe Tropical Storm “Nakri” was last spotted 145 kilometers north of Southern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

“Nakri” is moving westward at 15 kph.

The tail-end of a cold front, PAGASA said, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.

Flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are possible.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
