PAGASA monitors active tropical cyclone outside PAR

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

PAGASA said as of 3 a.m., Tropical Storm “Matmo” was located 895 kilometers west of southern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

It is moving northwest at 20 kph.

Meanwhile, Bicol Region and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, Cagayan and Isabela will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies  affecting the eastern section of the country.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon affecting extreme Northern Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
