PAGASA monitors active tropical cyclone off N. Luzon; “Bualoi” still outside PAR

Northeasterly surface windflow prevails over extreme N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration continues to monitor an active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

PAGASA said as of 3 a.m., Typhoon “Bualoi” was located 2265 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of  185 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 230 kph.

It is moving north northwest at 20 kph.

According to PAGASA, the northeasterly surface windflow is also prevailing over Luzon.

Extreme Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, while Visayas and the rest of Luzon and Mindanao will have light  to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
