PAGASA monitoring LPA off N. Samar; southwest monsoon affects western section of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a low pressure area near Northern Samar.

PAGASA said the trough of the LPA, which as of 3 a.m. was located 975 kilometers east of Catarman, will bring Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the
southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Northern Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have  partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
