PAGASA: LPA to bring rains in parts of northern Luzon today

(Eagle News)—Rains are expected in some parts of the country today, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services  Administration said.

PAGASA said a low pressure area within the Philippine Area of Responsibility is expected to bring cloudy skies and scattered rains over Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Apayao and Abra.

The rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will experience good weather, with only possible localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said, however, that the LPA located 200 kilometers north of Basco, Batanes may be a typhoon in the next 36 hours.

PAGASA is also monitoring Typhoon Mangkhut, which is so far still outside PAR.
