PAGASA: 13 provinces under signal #1 as TD ‘Marce’ maintains strength

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that thirteen provinces are now under tropical cyclone warning signal (TCWS) No. 1 as the low pressure area east of Mindanao has developed into tropical depression (TD) “Marce” and maintains its strength.

In its severe weather bulletin issued 5 AM, Pagasa raised TCWS No. 1 over southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Siquijor, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Surigao Del Norte, Surigao Del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin.

Pagasa said estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 200 km diameter of the tropical depression.

“Marce” is expected to make landfall in Surigao province Friday afternoon or early evening.

It was last eyed at 240 km east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur.

TD Marce has maximum winds of up to 45 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
