Other countries may pay ransom due to beheading of John Ridsdel

QUEZON City, Philippines – The leadership of the Armed Forces of the Philippines dispelled the belief that the beheading of the Canadian national John Ridsdel last Monday in Sulu will lead to other countries to pay ransom to the Abu Sayyaf. The AFP reiterated its stance of discouraging the payment of ransom as such will encourage the ASG to continue with its terrorist activities.
