Orange rainfall warning hoisted over Santa Ana, Cagayan

(Eagle News)–An orange rainfall warning has been hoisted over a portion of Cagayan.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said flooding is threatening in flood-prone areas in Santa Ana in particular.

A yellow warning level, on the other hand, is hoisted over Abulug, Ballesteros, Pamplona and Sanchez Mira.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected over Abulug, Ballesteros, Pamplona and Sanchez Mira in Cagayan, and these may persist within one to two hours.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are so far being experienced over Calanasan and Luna in Apayao, and in Baggao and Gonzaga in Cagayan.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains are being experienced in  Allacapan, Buguey, Camalanuigan, Lallo and Penablanca, also in Cagayan.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are also expected over Agusan del Sur and Davao Oriental within one to two hours.

These conditions are being experienced in Hinatuan, Tagbina, Barobo, Lianga in Surigao del Sur.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impact associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
