On AFP’s 84th anniversary, President Duterte reiterates “unqualified support” for soldiers

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, Dec. 17, reiterated his “unqualified support” for the military, as he urged them to continue to protect the country.

Duterte reiterated his commitment during the 84th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Quezon City.

“I and I alone. Kung sakali man, [I] will go to prison. You can enjoy your freedom. I will take the risk,” Duterte said, saying he was “old” and “disposable.”

According to Duterte, Filipinos count on soldiers to “remain steadfast in your noble mission to defend our sovereignty and maintain peace in our communities.”

“..And you should not fail,” he said.
