“Nimfa” almost stationary; Cagayan Valley, 2 other areas to have cloudy skies, scattered rainshowers due to trough of TD

(Eagle News)–Cagayan Valley and other areas are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms today, Sept. 17, due to the trough of  Tropical Depression “Nimfa.”

In its recent advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said apart from Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region will experience the same conditions.

As of 3 p.m., PAGASA said the center of “Nimfa” was estimated 725 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, packing  maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

The weather bureau said “Nimfa” was almost stationary.

Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area spotted off Zambales was seen 95 kilometers west of Iba.

The southwest monsoon, PAGASA added, continues to affect Central and Southern Luzon and Western Visayas.

Central Luzon, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro will experience rains due to the southwest monsoon and the LPA, the bureau said.

Metro Manila, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the rest of CALABARZON and MIMAROPA will also have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have  partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
