(Eagle News)–Tropical Storm “Nimfa” has accelerated as it moves in a north northwest direction.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 3 a.m., the center of the tropical storm was estimated at 580 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
It is moving west at 25 kph.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon affects Central and Southern Luzon.
CALABARZON and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have monsoon rains, with flash floods or landslides possible.
Metro Manila and Central Luzon will have
occasional rains while the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers because of localized thunderstorms.
