NDRRMC: Over 250,000 individuals affected by Typhoon “Ompong”

(Eagle News)–At least 250,000 people were affected  by Typhoon “Ompong,” the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Managament Council said.

In its 6 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said the 250,036 people translated to 63,769 families.

Of the number, the NDRRMC said 148,283 persons or 37,910 families were from Regions I, II, III, National Capital Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Over 30,000 or 34,169 families or 133,457 persons are so far staying in 1,190 evacuation centers, the NDRRMC said.

Over 3000, or 3,741 families or 14,826 persons, remained outside evacuation centers or are staying with relatives or friends.
