NBI probes BOC exec slay

(Eagle News)– The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating the murder of Bureau of Customs Deputy Commissioner Arturo Lachica, who was shot by an unidentified assailant on Thursday night (November 17).

Agents from the NBI-National Capital Region have been assigned to the probe, which was ordered by Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.

Lachica was shot by an unidentified gunman in his car while waiting for the green light at the corner of España Boulevard and Kundiman street in Manila.

The Customs official was rushed to United Doctors Medical Center, but died while undergoing treatment.

His driver-bodyguard Romulo de Lima was hurt while another security aide, Ramon Hernandez, who was seated in the back, did not have any injury.
