(Eagle News) — The National Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday, Feb. 6, said those who coddled Kenneth Dong, who has been accused of smuggling P6.4 billion worth of shabu from China, may face charges for obstruction of justice.

Authorities said they were still in the process, however, of identifying these individuals who hid Dong from the authorities until he was arrested on Monday, Feb. 4.

Dong was arrested by NBI operatives in Katarungan Village in Muntinlupa, where houses are provided for Department of Justice employees.

He had a pending arrest warrant issued by a Manila court in connection with the smuggling case.

Facing the media, Dong denied he had been hiding, adding he was planning to turn himself in to authorities after Chinese New Year.

Apart from Dong, accused Mark Taguba and Eirene Mae Tatad are already detained in connection with the case.
