NBI: 17-year-old suspect in Christine Silawan slay in custody

(Eagle News)–A suspect in the killing of Christine Silawan, a 17-year-old boy, is now in custody, the National Bureau of Investigation said.

No details are available so far.

Silawan’s lifeless body was found in a vacant lot in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu last week.

Police said she suffered multiple stab wounds, and her head had been skinned, exposing her skull.

Her trachea, esophagus and others were also missing.

Earlier, authorities announced the arrest of a man who was a suspect in the killing of a farmer early this year, the manner of which bore similarities to the manner in which Silawan was killed.

The police later clarified Jonas Bueno’s arrest was for the death of the farmer and had no direct connection with Silawan’s killing.
