Nancy Binay offers outgoing senator Trillanes free hospitalization, teaching job in Makati

(Eagle News)—-Senator Nancy Binay has offered Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who spearheaded a Senate probe into the  alleged overpricing of a University of Makati building, a teaching job at the university.

According to Senator Panfilo Lacson, Binay, daughter of Jejomar Binay, Trillanes’ rival, also offered the outgoing senator free hospitalization at the Ospital ng Makati,  “with 24-hour free parking at the Makati parking lot, plus free admission to the Ospital ng Makati and free burial in the Makati cemetery.”

“Totoo yun pero katuwaan lang sa (Senate) lounge…Dagdag ko na lang yung free parking and free burial kasi si Sen Trillanes pursued to the hilt the Senate investigation on the UMak and parking lot issues, if you recall,” Lacson said.

Apart from Trillanes, former senator and now incoming Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano initiated the probe into the alleged anomalies which implicated Binay’s father and  her brother, then-Makati Mayor Junjun Binay.

The probe took place prior to the 2016 elections, when the elder Binay ran for president but lost to then-Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

The other graduating senators apart from Trillanes are Francis Escudero, Loren Legarda, Bam Aquino, Gringo Honasan and JV Ejercito.

Escudero and Legarda will assume their posts as governor of Sorsogon and Antique representative, respectively, in July.

Aquino and Ejercito, for their part, failed in their reelection bids in the May elections.
