MTPB starts distribution of body cameras for traffic enforcers

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau started distributing body cameras for the use of its traffic enforcers as a safety measure against erring motorists. This is because MTPB enforcers were usually placed in a tight spot by errant motorists especially in places where there are no CCTV cameras to record the incident.

MTPB traffic enforcer Rolando Montejo said that some erring motorists turned the tables on traffic aides when there are no video or even photographic records of the incidents being questioned.

“Minsan hindi mo siya ginawan ng kalokohan. Magsusumbong sa opisina binabaligtad ka ikaw yung nasa tama, wala kang ebidensya, ikaw pa nababaligtad minsan,” Montejo said.

The MTPB said that the body cameras are equipped with night vision and can be used in any weather condition.
