(Eagle News)—–The Metro Rail Transit-3 has lifted its ban on liquids above 100 milliliters but these should first be subjected to tests in front of security personnel before they are allowed inside.

In an advisory on Thursday, Feb. 21, the MRT-3 said  bottles supposedly containing water will therefore be drunk by passengers, those containing perfume will therefore be sprayed, among others.

Items that have been confiscated can be claimed from the Stations Control Room upon presentation of an identification card, the MRT-3 said.

It said confiscated items that have not been claimed after 14 days will be confiscated.

The MRT-3 implemented a ban on all liquids in its trains following the Jolo blasts that killed at least 23 in January.

The management relaxed its rules and announced it was allowing liquids for as long as they did not exceed 100 ml, following an incident that saw a Chinese national throwing a cup of taho at a policeman who was merely explaining to her the policy.

The Chinese national has been charged in connection with the incident.
