(Eagle News) — Some senior members of the Aegis Juris fraternity are coddling those who are believed behind the death of Horacio Castillo III.

This was revealed by Chief Supt. Joel Coronel, Manila Police District director, during the Senate hearing of the committee on public order and dangerous drugs on the hazing victim’s death.

Asked by Senator Grace Poe if any one of those senior members was with them, Coronel said “there was no direct evidence as of yet.”

Asked again by the senator, Coronel refused to answer, saying it was still an ongoing investigation.

“So naririto nga kasi di ka sumasagot,” Poe said, prompting Coronel to smile.

Prominent members of the fraternity who were in the Senate hearing were University of Sto. Tomas Faculty of Civil Law dean Nilo Divina, faculty secretary Arthur Capili, among others.

Earlier, Coronel said he was probing Divina for “possible complicity in a particular incident.”
