Mocha Uson to run as independent candidate in 2019 polls

(Eagle News) —  Former Assistant Communications Mocha Uson will run as independent in the 2019 elections.

Uson made the disclosure after Senator Koko Pimentel, PDP-Laban president, said she would not be included in the official list of bets of the political party.

Uson said it was still unclear whether she would run for a Senate seat, or for a House of Representatives seat.

In a video posted on her Facebook page, President Rodrigo Duterte was seen saying he would support Uson’s political plans.

Uson was an avid supporter of President Duterte before she was appointed as Communications Assistant secretary.

She resigned, however, reportedly to pave way for the passage of the proposed budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, which she had been serving for over a year.
