MMDA to implement one-strike policy vs corrupt traffic personnel

QUEZON City, Philippines – The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), which is now part of the Inter-Agency Committee on Traffic or I-ACT, has warned its personnel that it would implement the one-strike policy against erring men who would be caught asking for bribes.

MMDA office-in-charge Thomas Orbos said traffic enforcers engaging in corrupt practices will be immediately pulled out of the streets and investigated.

“I will not allow traffic enforcers to taint the image of the MMDA. We will implement a one-strike policy. Any insinuation, any word that one of our enforcers is taking illegally we will deal with it immediately,” said Orbos.
Those enforcers who would be proven guilty will be charged administratively, he added.
