(Eagle News)– Menchie Abalos has won another term as Mandaluyong mayor after beating her only rival by a landslide.
“Sa lahat ng Mandaleño, maraming maraming salamat sa muli ninyong pagtitiwala sa akin. Hinding hindi ko po bibiguin ang inyong pagtitiwala sa akin,” Abalos said in a video posted on her Facebook account after results showed she was far ahead independent candidate Florencio Solomon.
The Abalos family has long dominated Mandaluyong politics, with Menchie’s husband, Benhur Abalos, having served as mayor and congressman previously.
Their daughter Charisse also won another stint as councilor of the city.
“Mandaluyong, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong pagmamahal, suporta. Thank you, thank you!” Charisse said in a video uploaded on her Facebook account
