Mediamen move camp in Sulu amid Abu Sayyaf threat

(Eagle News)– Journalists covering the military efforts against Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Sulu moved to a bigger military camp due to a rumored threat from the group.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) transported the media-men to Camp Teodulfo Bautista, despite of no signs of threats at the camp of the 35th Infantry Battalion.

Media personnel covering the operations against the terrorist group have been staying at military camps since the kidnapping of journalists happened before.

Even the communities around the camp were left immediately by residents.

More forces were deployed by the Army, following the directives of President Rodrigo Duterte to “destroy” the ASG.
