Marcos lawyer: Robredo camp claim she gained 15,000 more votes in recount covering Iloilo, 2 others “presumptuous”

(Eagle News)–The supposed increase in the number of votes  gained by Vice  President Leni in the latest recount of votes covering Negros Oriental and two other provinces is proof that there was fraud in the 2016 vice presidential race, former Senator Bongbong Marcos’ camp said on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

In an interview over ANC, George Garcia added however that the claim of  the camp of Vice President  Leni Robredo that they gained 15,000 more votes in the recount covering Negros Oriental, Camarines Sur and Iloilo was “presumptuous.”

“(If an)  increase, so they are saying therefore that the machines did not function properly. So what we are saying is that is the irregularity,” George Garcia said in an interview over ANC.

According to Garcia, this therefore would only mean that Marcos’ protest should not be dismissed, and that his cause of action that election returns for Robredo in Basilan, Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao should be nullified should be considered.

“Anything other than dismissal is a victory for the Marcos camp,” he said.
