QUEZON City, Philippines – Malacañang appealed to the public to understand the context of President Benigno S. Aquino III’s veto of the Comprehensive Nursing Bill which could have resulted in a higher salary for government nurses.
According to Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, it will be an injustice to raise the entry-level pay of government nurses to Salary Grade 15 while those of equally important positions – like teachers – are left behind.
