(Eagle News) — So how do netizens generally feel about Senator Leila de Lima being arrested?

Apparently, ecstatic.

An overwhelming majority of those who answered a Feb. 24 Eagle News online survey said they were happy the senator had been apprehended, with some of them saying this was long overdue.

As of March 2, of the  2488 who answered the survey since Feb. 25,   2,339 answered this way.

“MASAYA….MASAYANG MASAYA,” Roger Espiritu wrote.

Sherrie Valle Gil even went to the extent of saying she was “on festive mode.”

“Love it,” JM Villarino said, while Cristita Lin added she was “happy at last.”

“Masaya dahil nanaig pa rin ang hustisya sa mga taong pinagwawalang bahala ang batas,” Rommel Barrera said.

Sixty eight respondents, or 2.7 percent, voted they were angry, but it was unclear if their anger was directed at De Lima or at her being arrested.”

Only 81 respondents, or 3.3 percent, said they were sad about what happened to the senator.

De Lima was arrested on February 24, after Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 Judge Juanita Guerrero issued a warrant against her.

The warrant stems from a case in connection with her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trading in the national penitentiary.

Warrants of arrest were also issued against De Lima’s co-accused, her alleged bagman Ronnie Dayan and former Bureau of Corrections officer in charge Rafael Ragos.

De Lima is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center, while Dayan is being held at the Muntinlupa Police.

Ragos is in detention at the National Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Manila.
