Magalong confirms meeting with President Duterte to talk about “ninja cops” behind 2013 Pampanga raid

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte recently  met with former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Benjamin Magalong and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Aaron Aquino to discuss what happened during the 2013 Pampanga raid.

This was confirmed by Magalong himself, upon questioning by Senator Richard Gordon during the joint Senate panel’s hearing on the Good Conduct Time Allowance law on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

According to Magalong, he and Aquino were called by the President to Manila Hotel.

“Yes, Mr. Chair. I basically narrated to him what transpired to him in 2013,” Magalong said.

He said Aquino also told the President “na tinawagan siya ni General (Oscar) Albayalde at sinabi sa kaniya na wag iimplement ang order,” Magalong said, referring to the dismissal order signed in November 2014 against then-Col. Rodney Baloyo and his men.

Magalong accused Baloyo and his men of colluding to enable the release of one Johnson Lee whom they themselves had arrested  during the raid in Mexico.

“Sabi niya (Aquino) bakit di ko iimplement, e mga tao ko yan sabi. So ginawa ni Aquino, tinapon niya sa Mindanao para may aksyon siyang nagawa,” Magalong said.
