LTFRB opens 20 more routes for UV Express units

Over 2000 more UV Express units allowed to ply streets

(Eagle News)–The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has opened 20 more routes for 2428 more UV Express units in Metro Manila.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said according to Memorandum Circular No. 2020-060, the following routes are now open:

N38 Karuhatan – North Road Rail Station Terminal (NRRS) (Trinoma)
N39 Karuhatan-SM North EDSA/Trinoma
N40 Robinson’s, Novaliches – Vito Cruz
N41 Robinson’s Place, Novaliches – Buendia
N42 Rosario (Pasig) – McKinley Hills (Taguig)
N43 San Bartolome – MRT (North Ave.)
N44 San Roque (Marikina)- Commonwealth Market
N45 SM Fairview – Buendia
N46 SM Fairview – T.M. Kalaw via Commonwealth
N47 SM North C.I.T. – T.M. Kalaw
N48 SM South Mall – Quiapo
N49 Southmall – Lawton
N50 Sto. Niño (Marikina) – Ayala
N51 Sto. Niño (Marikina) – Ortigas Center
N52 Sucat (Parañaque) – Lawton (Park ‘N Ride)
N53 Tandang Sora (Visayas Ave.) – T.M. Kalaw
N54 Trinoma Mall – Robinsn’s Mall, Novaliches via Commonwealth
C62 Rodriguez (Montalban) – Araneta (Cubao)
C63 Rodriguez – Cubao
C64 Montalban Central Terminal – Cubao Central Terminal

The LTFRB said apart from the new routes, 2,428 new UV Express units are also allowed to ply the streets.

According to the memorandum circular, the roadworthy PUVs with a valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) or Application for Extension of Validity will be allowed to operate.

They should also have a Personal Passenger Insurance Policy.

The UV Express units are also allowed to ply the roads without a special permit, but with a QR code that can be downloaded from the official   LTFRB website (https://ltfrb.gov.ph/).

The LTFRB reminded drivers and operators that there will be no fare increases unless directed by the agency.

All safety and health protocols shall also be followed, including the wearing of face shields and masks, and the ban on talking over the phone and on talking in general inside vehicles.

Drivers and operators caught not implementing these may be fined or their CPC or PA removed.
