QUEZON Citty, Philippines – The Light Rail Transit or LRT Line 1 will now run with a speed of 60 kph, and with less vibration and noise due to installation of new rails.
The installation of new rails started in April 2016 with a target completion date in September 2017.
Despite the changes and the innovation of the LRT 1 with the new rails, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) turned down the request for an increase in the LRT fare.
