LPA spotted off Surigao del Sur; northeast monsoon affects N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a low pressure area off Surigao del Sur.

PAGASA said as of 3 a.m., the LPA was situated 940 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan.

The northeast monsoon is also affecting Northern Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused are expected over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Isabela, Batanes, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and Aurora.

PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and Aurora Province.

The coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
