LPA spotted near Ilocos Norte

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a low pressure area near Ilocos Norte.

As of 7 a.m., PAGASA said the LPA was located 170 kilometers west of Laoag City.

So far, nine areas have been placed under storm signals as Tropical Storm “Falcon” moved east of Aparri, Cagayan.

Apayao, Batanes and Cagayan including the Babuyan Group of Islands are under Signal No. 2, while Ilocos Norte, Abra,
Kalinga, Isabela, Mountain Province and Ifugao are under Signal No. 1.

Signal No. 1 has been lifted from the northern portion of Aurora, northern portion of Nueva Vizcaya, and northern portion of Quirino.

“Falcon” may exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday, July 19.
